Authorities are investigating a tragic incident at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill after a person was found dead at the The Carolina Inn, a historic hotel located on the university’s campus. Law enforcement officials say the case is currently being treated as a suspected suicide.
According to the Chapel Hill Police Department, officers responded early in the morning after receiving reports of an unresponsive individual at the inn. Emergency personnel arrived quickly at the scene, where the person was pronounced dead. Authorities immediately secured the area as investigators began gathering information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
